A few weeks ago my daughter and I were out walking in a large, heavily gridded city, the kind of place where every intersection looks the same and directional decisions feel almost arbitrary after a while, which led us to wonder what would happen if we stopped pretending we had a plan at all and instead let chance decide where we went. At each intersection we flipped a coin, heads meant turn right, tails meant turn left, and we kept going to see how long it would take before we somehow wandered back to where we started. The "drunkards walk" problem. The question is, who long does it take to get back home. So we decided to code a simulation (for our own education and to teach her vibe coding)....
